All About Bryony
(AWOL’s Admin & Support Manager)

  1. Q: What is your official job title?
A: Admin & Support Manager (totally self-named! Who am I managing? Bossing them all lol).

  2. Q: How long have you worked for AWOL?
A: I have been in the company since 2019, and originally I was much more involved with customer support. I have been in my current role since September 2021.

  3. Q: What did you do pre-AWOL?
A: I worked for an online company based in Lancashire called ‘Garden Store Direct’ as a part time admin to fit around the children (who were at school and pre-school at the time).

  4. Q: Describe a typical day at AWOL.
A: I am in charge of on-boarding any new Event Organisation Clients (asking all the questions we need to be able to enter into a contract and start working with them). I then draw up the contracts and also renew previous contracts. I also audit AWOL and our clients against our contracts. I create a report after every event, giving an overview of the event’s performance over a short term, and then complete an in-depth year-end Event Organisation Report on all the events we have covered. This is a great way to discuss, assess and improve upon our working relationships with our clients to enhance our future performance.

  5. Q: What do you do on race day?
A: During busy periods and on race days, I am still involved in customer support and keep an eye on all the relevant social media pages to make sure we can answer any queries quickly.

  6. Q: What do you love about your job?
A: I really like talking with clients and working flexibly to accommodate their event photography needs. I have learned a lot of new skills in this role and intend to continue to evolve!

  7. Q: What’s the best thing about working at AWOL?
A: The Team! The office has a great creative working atmosphere and we all enjoy coming to work. AWOL is always looking for ways of innovating within the Event Photography Industry and despite the current economic climate, the business is growing and making positive changes so that we can adapt and innovate to keep AWOL at the forefront of ideas and technology. Everyone has a voice here. No two days are ever the same and I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else!

  8. Q: When you’re not working what are you doing?
A: I love being outdoors with the family, walking, exploring etc. I am also a singer by trade and have recently started to work towards singing at events and concerts again.

  9. Q: Favourite book/film?
A: Dirty Dancing is an all-time favourite film. I love to escape into a book so I enjoy historical, fantasy and sci fi genres. Some of my favourite authors are Philip Pullman, Ursula Le Guin, Adrian Tchaikovsky and Phillipa Gregory.

  10. Q: What are your most used emojis?
    A:

  11. Q: What’s your go-to karaoke song?
A: Anything from the 90’s girl groups!

  12. Q: Who inspires you?
A: All the fellow Mums out there who are just trying to do their best. It’s the hardest and most rewarding job in the world.
